My name is Jonathan P. Connell, I am the Administrator here at Private Clinic Albany. The philosophy of this clinic is simple: we exist for the sole purpose of treating people with an addiction to prescription pain medication and Heroin. Our slogan states stop using…start living. We are committed to providing our patients with opportunities to start living a normal life again.

Opiate addiction is a growing problem in our community. More than 10% of adult age Georgia residents are addicted to drugs, according to a 2002 study conducted by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. As you know, addictions especially to drugs destroy families, lives are broken, dreams die, and life exists to find the next pill.

The reason I am working in the field of recovery is because I love to see lives changed, families restored, and dreams regained. For many people they discover meaning and purpose in their lives for the first time. This work can be very fulfilling at times.

It is my commitment to treat the addicted population with dignity and respect. People who are addicted to pain pills are no different than anyone else; they are struggling with an issue in their lives, addiction. I assume everyone can identify with struggling with something like: being overweight, smoking, anger, greed, lust, sex or a variety of other vices. The problem is still the same; they struggle with a problem. The people in our clinic have an advantage over most people because they have had the courage to stand up and admit that they have a problem and have asked for help.

We are committed to help our patients and their families heal from the wounds of addiction.
